Der Hafen ist über eine kleine Zufahrt vor der Brücke erreichbar, das Becken gibt etwa 15 Booten Platz. Das Sanitärgebäude mit Waschmaschine und Trockner liegt direkt im Hafen, der Hafenmeister wohnt in unmittelbarer Nähe. Der Hafen ist zum Ort hin nicht verschlossen. Zuidbroek ist über eine kleine Klappbrücke schnell erreicht. Das letzte Lebensmittelgeschäft in der Ortsmitte ist aber leider geschlossen, ein Metzgerladen hat aber noch geöffnet (Stand 2008). In Nieuwe Staatenzijl gelangt man zwar gegenüber von Emden auf den Dollart, wegen des Geisedamms in der Ems muss man aber doch weit nach Westen fahren, um in das Emder Fahrwasser zu gelangen.
