Einer von ihnen war der aus München stammende Arzt mit amerikanischem Pass Dr. Manfred Curry (1899-1953) aus [[Dießen]]. Noch für die USA startend hat er 1928 bei den Olympischen Spielen im 12-Fuß-Dinghy den 10. Platz belegt. Am bekanntesten ist er jedoch geworden durch die nach ihm benannte "Curry-Klemme". Von ihm stammen außerdem die Entwicklung des Genua-Vorsegels, der Kugel-Spinnaker und das durchgelattete Großsegel. Legendär ist seine futuristisch konstruierte 20er-Rennjolle "Aero II", die nie nach gesegelter Zeit geschlagen wurde.</ins></div></td></tr>
